For breaking the fast, here’s the secret to making Lupis Cakes that are fast & legit, friends

ingredient

  • 500 gr glutinous rice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pandan paste (may not be used)

Brown Sugar Sauce Ingredients:
150 gr brown sugar
150 ml water
6 tbsp white sugar
Half tsp salt
1 pcs pandan leaf
1.5 tbsp tapioca flour
3 tbsp water

Sprinkling Ingredients:
300 gr grated coconut
Half tsp salt
1 pcs pandan leaf

How to make Lupis

  1. Wash the glutinous rice and soak for 3-4 hours, set aside
  2. Tear the banana leaf about 6 cm and wither, by steaming for 2-3 minutes, or in the heat through the sun for about 30-60 minutes
  3. Mix grated coconut with salt and give 1 sheet of pandan leaf that has been concluded, steam for 10 minutes set aside
  4. After the glutinous rice is soaked, drain it
  5. Meanwhile, after the banana leaves wilt, take one sheet, then fold the lower left corner inward to form a triangle, making sure the bottom corner is tightly closed
  6. Enter 1 tablespoon of glutinous rice, stick the tip of the spoon into the triangle corner of the banana leaf (so that the rice is evenly distributed), then trim
  7. Close and trim so that it is triangular and secure with toothpicks (details in the video)
  8. Wrap this glutinous rice until it runs out
  9. Boil this lupis until the water boils (make sure the water is almost pot), you can also add 1 tsp pandan paste
  10. In a boiling state, wait for 10 minutes (boil continuously). After 10 minutes turn off the fire
  11. Let stand for 30-60 minutes (stove fire is off)
  12. Turn the stove back on, make sure the water boils, then boil it for 10 minutes
  13. After 10 minutes, turn off the stove, let stand for 60 minutes, then remove from heat
  14. Next, we cook the sauce by putting it in another pot of brown sugar, water, white sugar, salt, pandan leaves. Cook until boiling, then strain. Put it back in the pot
  15. Mix water and tapioca flour, put it into the boiled brown sugar that has been filtered earlier
  16. Cook until thickened (stirring constantly) and boiling, remove from heat
  17. Remove the lupis from the banana leaf, roll it in grated coconut, and serve it with brown sugar sauce
  18. Ready to serve and good luck
