  • 1 kg beef, cut into pieces and boil until tender, set aside

Soto Sauce Seasoning:

  • 1 tsp salt


  • 2 liters of water (500 ml from the rest of the beef stew)
  • 1 spring onion, sliced
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 lemongrass stalks, bruised
  • 1 segment of galangal, bruised
  • 1/2 segment of ginger, crushed
  • 10 gr beef broth
  • 1 tsp fine salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 garlics (sliced ​​and fried)
  • 2 red onions (sliced ​​and fried)

How to make soto

  1. Puree all the spices, set aside
  2. Then boil the water then add the ground spices, add the ginger, bay leaf, galangal and lemongrass, saute until the smell is fragrant
  3. After that, add 500 ml of boiled meat, wait until it boils
  4. After boiling, add the beef, then add the scallions, broth powder, pepper and salt
  5. Taste test, wait until it boils
  6. After boiling, add fried garlic and red, stir then turn off the stove, set aside

How to present:

  • Take a plate, add rice, and flush with soto sauce
  • Then add celery, sprouts, hard-boiled eggs, chili sauce, and stir and enjoy (if you want more complete you can add fried peanuts)
