Traveling to Manado seems incomplete if you only visit various tourist objects and their natural beauty.

Manado, which is often dubbed “culinary paradise”, has many exotic foods, full of spices with a tempting spicy taste.

The moment when you set foot on the land of Nyiur Melambai – Minahasa Land, maybe when you fill your hungry stomach from the flight just now. One of the options is to enjoy fresh water animal dishes. Goldfish and tilapia.

Goldfish and tilapia? What’s so special about it? What is clear, the Manado version of goldfish and mujair are very different. The most reliable is mud-free with a more ‘sweet’ fish taste. Without chemicals, because usually a few days before consumption, these fish are transferred to a clean pond and fed rice, to remove the smell of mud and give the fish a sweet taste. That’s just how to process the raw materials, not to mention how to cook fish which is typical Manado style. You can imagine, grilled fish can be served crispy, eaten with dabu dabu lilang (sliced chili) or grilled fish dabu dabu. (Dabu dabu is Manado language which means sambal)

The delicacy of the fish becomes more perfect if we enjoy it in the countryside. In the village of Sukur and Suwaan can be an option. Various well-ordered restaurants are scattered in this village at the foot of Mount Klabat. Not far from the airport to the north. However, if time is tight, the delights of Manado-style freshwater fish can still be enjoyed in the city, although with a different atmosphere.

After lunch? Our culinary tour can also be continued with an afternoon meal. Line up the afternoon dishes that can be enjoyed in the city of Manado. There is Gohu (a type of Manado pickle, usually made from papaya or cucumber with Manadonese seasoned vinegar sauce). Gohu is also more complete if ‘accompanied’ by red bean ice… plus fried bananas eaten with dabu dabu (sambal) roa fish or dabu dabu (sambal) bakasang .. just tooop

For dinner… Oh, there are many choices… If you want a mountainous atmosphere, there are many exotic culinary choices.. just choose… want a Tondano lake nuance, you just need to roll to Boulevard Tondano, about 1 hour from Manado. There you can find colombi satay (a type of shellfish that lives in Lake Tondano), weris birds, renga (conch). Prices are friendly too.

From the mountainous area there is also known the city of Kacang…. There is a choice of Kawangkoan beans… Roasted peanuts with sand…. Well, you’re confused, aren’t you… Try it… it’s in Kawangkoan village, about 35 km from Manado

Want a sea atmosphere? There are,,,,, Various sea food lined up along the coast along the road along the villages of Kalasey and Mokupa. Less than half an hour from Manado. Various choices, there are economical and luxurious. Just choose. Assorted grilled fish, shrimp and so on. There are also exotic cuisines, namely walnut crabs, gola prawns (ronggeng shrimp), barracuda fish and many more.. but for the 3 menus that I mentioned just now, you have to spend even more.. aka more expensive than the others.

Maybe a day trip culinary tour seems enough to be closed by stopping at a coffee house. Even then after midnight just finished.

As for the breakfast menu…. Wow, this is Manado’s mainstay food, ‘beauty’ and health food ‘Manado porridge’ or in Manado language called “Tinu’tuan”, even often called Tinu’. There is also skipjack noodles eaten with chili radish slices. There is Manado-style yellow rice and various other Manado specialties.

That’s just a halal menu.. What about non-halal and extreme culinary? wow if that’s more… but this time I’m only discussing halal ones…

This is just a small part of it…. Interested?
