Tokyo, Japan — Travelers should always wear a helmet, avoid high-speed riding and keep their eyes open when riding in crowded places, the Japan Travel Advisory said.
As part of the updated travel advice, the advisory said that a motorcycle rider should always maintain the speed limit of 70km/h, avoid “high-speed or rapid-moving traffic and wear helmets when riding on sidewalks, crosswalks and crosswalms.”
It also urged travelers to use eye-witnesses to confirm any accidents and to report any suspected injuries.
The new Japan Travel Advisories are based on information gathered from public transportation, police, hospitals and other sources.
Japan’s National Transportation Safety Board has issued more than 200 travel advisories since the start of the year.
